I plan to start backpacking with my sons & their Boy Scout troop so I wanted a lightweight tent that I could either tent with a son or myself & it wouldn't be too heavy. The tent I recieved weighs in at 4 lbs-which is great! It has aluminum poles which I consider a higher quality then the other under $100 tents. It actually has 2 entrances!! I was hoping it would but I didn't expect that. The vestibule is pretty small but it's at least enough to leave your boots out of the tent & out of the rain. It extends about 18-24 inches from the tent-not enough to leave my pack in & probably wouldn't cook in. The base of the tent I measure at 4'8" by 6'7". This is a cozy 2-person intended for camp pads not big air mattresses. When I recieved the tent I set it up in the back yard (without a tarp under it)& put a couple sleeping bags in. We've had a very rainy spring & that day was no exception. It rained pretty constantly for the next 20 hours or so. I noticed no water leaking... The tent arrived and was lighter than specs, which say 5.5 lbs. Like a previous reviewer, this was about 4.5 lbs pack weight. Brought this in the car as a spare tent and it's seen good use in our Boy Scout Troop. It's gone through Snow Camp in March up in the Sierras and survived beautifully and leak free. And it's fairly light. Sleeps two scouts w/ gear inside quite well, and the rainfly provides good protection from the elements. Price was outstanding on this tent.Features that have worked well are the bathtub bottom, fuller rainfly, the easy-to-pack tent sak and free standing design which makes it easy enough for a Tenderfoot to setup. LOL! My only regret isn't really one. The parent of the Scout that has borrowed this tent the most times decided to buy this tent from me after his son's patrol had duty roster mistakes and didn't get tent assignments correct.
