I expected it to be bigger, it's actually pretty small (sorry, forgot to measure it before rolling it up with the tent). I'd say it's smaller than a standard kitchen mat and definitely smaller than a regular outside door mat. I wasn't expecting something huge, but was surprised by the size.I tried it outside of my tent which doesn't have much of a "patio". We camp in state parks where the sites are pretty much dirt; this didn't help much. It's not thick, so dirt just sits on top for the most part. It would probably be better used inside, to catch the left over dirt after you take your shoes/sandals off to go into the tent. But it also slides around easy because it's so light weight. So on a nylon tent floor, there's no way it's staying in place on it's own. I pretty much wasted $10 on this one. We used it inside our tent for a place to step in and take off shoes. I was affraid is was going to be very thin and cheap, but turns out is was just right (for inside). The bottom has a little grip so it doesn't slide all over. I just wish I could get one a little bigger. We roll this up with our tent for storage. Not sure how this would work outside, I am guessing it would get dirty fast and I don't think it is sturdy enough to be used that way.If you need a small floor mat to put inside your tent, this will work great.
